We know motherhood is full of beauty and joy and wonder, but we also know it’s full of tedious tasks, constant work, and endless duties. Annie and Jolly will discuss ways to approach the drudgery of daily tasks and expound on the reality that sanctification comes through daily work, especially the work of motherhood.
Scripture reference: Ephesians 1:3-10
I just recently discovered your show and want to thank you for your work! I am the mother of a 20 month old and it is so good to be reminded of the ways my vocation is Christ like!
I also wanted to thank you for this episode in particular. In addition to motherhood, I help to care for my husbands grandmother. Elder care is surprisingly similar to raising a toddler. Repetitive tasks with very little acknowledgment. This episode really spoke to me and my multiple hats as caregiver. Thank you for all that you do! I will be reading Brother Lawrence’s book!
Oh, God bless you Alyse! You are certainly being Christ every day, to your baby and to your husband’s grandmother. EVERY day you are living out the Corporal Works of Mercy in your home, in all the unseen moments, being the hands and feet of Jesus and He sees you and his heart rejoices over you with singing. This work IS eternal even when and especially when it feels interminable :-). Thank you for your “yes” to the Lord in this vocation and for letting him work through you. I promise to pray for you. And thank you for listening!
