“Fresh basil and floral infused honey complement seasonal, fresh strawberries with a surprising yet delicious twist that will leave you delighted with healthful satisfaction. Add this rendition to your table at your next May family soirée. If you have fresh, firm green grapes, add to the strawberries for a refreshing medley of flavor.”

Ingredients

  •   1-2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  •   1-2 tablespoons honey, preferably orange blossom
  •   8-10 fresh basil leaves
  •   1.5 pounds fresh strawberries

Directions

Wash strawberries; pat dry, quarter, and place in a medium bowl. Stack basil leaves on top of one another, roll, and then cut crosswise into thin slices (this is called chiffonade). Sprinkle basil over strawberries, and fold in gently. Whisk together honey and lemon juice. Pour over strawberries, and fold gently. Let stand 10 minutes to meld flavors before serving.
