Ingredients:
- 15-20 Oreo (or “chocolate sandwich “) cookies
- 2 cups good quality melting chocolate—milk or dark
- 1 cup good quality melting chocolate—white
- Assortment of sprinkles, nonpareils, coconut flakes, crushed peppermint, etc.
Directions:
Lay parchment paper out on your work surface. Arrange whatever decorations you are using in small bowls so that you can easily access them.
Melt chocolate either in a double boiler or in a microwave. If using a microwave, place chocolate in a heat safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Stir, then heat again for another 20 seconds. It won’t look entirely melted, but stir well until smooth. Melt second bowl in the same way.
Using two forks in each bowl, dip one Oreo at a time and set on the parchment paper. Add sprinkles or other decorations while the chocolate is still fresh. You can also drizzle chocolate of the opposite color once the chocolate has set a little. Let dry completely and keep in an airtight container in a cool place for up to a week.
You can also dip graham crackers, pretzel rods, strawberries, and dried apricots.
