As I approach my thirty-second week of pregnancy, I am feeling the stretch in more ways than one. My heart is growing just as big as my belly for this, our third little one, and we are trying to make room in our home for her as well.
I have been very intentional about caring for myself during this magnificent dance of creation with God. Thinking about all the amazing changes and miracles that are happening daily is truly such a wonderful gift to behold, and I want to support them as naturally as I can.
One of the small things is my skin. It has been begging for moisture, so I whipped up this ultra-creamy belly butter. I like to put it on after the shower or bath while my skin is still a bit damp. It is full of skin-supporting oils and smells so lovely. This luxurious cream isn’t just for us pregnant mamas either. It can be customized to whatever your needs are or whatever you have on hand. As always, I recommend using the highest quality, pure essential oils. There are so many different oils that support the skin, so the possibilities are endless.
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut oil
- ¼ cup cocoa butter
- 1 tsp vitamin E oil
- 20 drops pure lavender essential oil
- 10 drops frankincense essential oil
- 10 drops Gentle Baby essential oil blend
- Glass jar with lid
Directions
Melt the cocoa butter in a saucepan or microwave.
Mix all the ingredients together well and store in a glass container. To make combining easier, use a mixer or blender.
Enjoy!
As mothers who have been given the crowning dignity of this “magnificent dance of creation with God” I am convinced more each day that self-care is a vital way of caring for the temple of our bodies that God has given us! I am so excited to have this one on the blog! What a treasure. Thank you, Gabrielle!
