Megan Smillie

Hey there, my name is Megan. Mom to six, and blessed with a writer’s heart, I’m a cradle Catholic, born and raised in New York. I met my Canadian husband whilst pursuing a liberal arts degree at Thomas Aquinas college in California, and now, so very far from both Canada and New York, (and much to my husband’s chagrin), we’ve called Texas “home” for the past almost-thirty years!
I’ve always had an intense love of the written word, and after teaching the middle grades for nine years at a local private school, I am thrilled to be heading up the blog at Mighty is Her Call. Reaching out to moms in all walks of life to offer encouragement, sustenance and camaraderie is such an honor for me. As a mom of mostly-adult children, I can attest that motherhood is raw and messy. I would argue that it is the vocation that exposes us completely, for, in mothering our kids, all of our facades are completely stripped away. And therein lies our purpose as well as our unending joy. Let’s walk this glorious, sacred, cross-strewn path together!
