Kathryn Rombs

Founder & President

I'm Kathryn Rombs, mother of six children and grandmother of one sweet baby girl. I live in Rome with my husband and the three children still under our roof. I am a Scholar in Residence at the University of Dallas, where I have taught philosophy off and on for 15 years, most recently last year as an affiliate professor on UD's Rome Program. While my doctorate is in philosophy, I am currently pursuing an STL in theology at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas. I love Mighty Is Her Call, especially in its lifting up of so many Catholic mothers and being a platform for their various talents, messages, charisms, and gifts. I love that this ministry is a chance for the Church and world to see more clearly the sacredness of Catholic motherhood. Mothers empty themselves for their loved ones, just as Christ "emptied himself. . . and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross" (Phil 2:6-11). It’s a vocation that affords the chance to live a radical Christ-like calling.

Emily Glicksman

SECRETARY

I’m Emily Glicksman. After spending the first 7 years of marriage longing for children, I now feel an "embarrassment of riches" in the blessings of our three. Mothering them has been my greatest blessing and challenge, which is one reason I enjoy working with Mighty is Her Call where I can connect with other mothers and support them in this awesome vocation of motherhood. I have been involved with Mighty is Her Call for over 7 years in a variety of capacities: retreat attendee, blog post author, fundraiser, retreat speaker, and board member. But, being a prayer partner for moms during retreat is the most humbling and rewarding.

I studied the theology of marriage and family at the Pontifical John Paul II Institute and have taught a variety of subjects in church, traditional school, homeschool, and on-line settings over the last twenty years. My family enjoys being part of the vibrant Catholic community surrounding the University of Dallas, where my husband teaches Scripture.

Mary Butler

Treasurer

I’m Mary Butler. Originally from the West Coast, I am grateful to have called Texas my home since college at the University of Dallas, where I met my husband. I am a mother of eight children and blessed with four grandchildren. I am also a middle school Educator/Interventionist at a local charter school. I love speaking to the hearts of all children whether they are mine or someone else’s and cherish truly hearing them and acknowledging their dignity.

I am active in several of my parish’s ministries, including financial wellness. God has blessed me with the opportunity to work alongside my husband in educating others about and assisting with their finances, helping to best prepare them for their future.

I absolutely love Mighty Is Her Call and have been a loyal fan since its inception. I am so grateful that Mighty Is Her Call is a voice for Catholic moms in all stages of their motherhood, as well as an affirmation of who they are and what they do. It is such a tremendous blessing to be a part of carrying MIHC’s message to the world!

Rebecca Sanford

MEMBER

I’m Rebecca Sanford. I am honored to serve on the Board of Mighty Is Her Call and have been an enthusiastic supporter of this ministry since its early days, as a speaker, blog contributor, retreat designer, and board member. As the mother of nine children and six grandchildren, I understand the importance of mothers supporting mothers in their vital work building up the Body of Christ. This is exactly the kind of ministry I longed for in my early years of motherhood, or when I worked part time as a nurse, or when I followed a call to move my family across the country to support my husband in his mission at the University of Dallas. I find myself wearing many hats as a mother of children spanning three decades, and I am so grateful for a ministry that serves each of us in whatever stage of motherhood we find ourselves. I applaud MIHC’s exhortation for mothers to persevere in living the truth that through our loving self-gift, we find our purpose and fulfillment in life, following the example of Christ and his Blessed Mother. The ideals this ministry upholds are supported by frequent points of connection, encouragement for self-care, opportunities for community, and promotion of spiritual growth. No one understands or can inspire a mother to dig deep and aim high quite like another mother. I am so grateful to have found these gifts in Mighty Is Her Call!

Kimberly Cook

MEMBER

I'm Kimberly Cook, wife and mother of five beautiful children. We live in Virginia where I homeschool four of them. I am the author of Motherhood Redeemed: How Radical Feminism Betrayed Maternal Love, as well as the podcast host of The Dignity of Women, featuring many of the most influential voices in the Church today.

I studied theology and mental health at the Franciscan University of Steubenville and theology at the Dominican House of Studies and Christendom Graduate School. I have an MA in systematic theology and write regularly on my Substack site, which is an outlet for thought and discussion on faith and challenging modern feminism.

Mighty is Her Call is a ministry that encourages women in their faith and vocation as spiritual and physical mothers, which I am passionate about. The world is so hungry for truth and longs for the renewal of families strengthened in Christ. This ministry answers that call!

Fr. Thomas Esposito

Advisor

I’m Father Thomas. I have the distinct pleasure of being the lone male and non-mother on the Board. I am a priest and monk of Our Lady of Dallas Cistercian Abbey, where I serve as junior master and subprior. I am an associate professor of theology at the University of Dallas, where I teach courses on biblical theology and interpretation; I also teach a world religions course at Cistercian Preparatory School. I have had the privilege of accompanying Mighty Is Her Call from its beginning, and I love crashing the mothers-only retreats in order to hear confessions! The joyful witness of my own mother planted the seed of the Catholic faith in me, and her persevering love nurtured that seed throughout my childhood. I am immensely blessed to play a small role in such a necessary and encouraging ministry for mothers.
