Although we have not had as many outings to the pool or the beach this summer, we have been trying to soak up the warmth of the sun in other outdoor adventures. With a curly, red-headed son and fair-skinned, freckle-prone daughter, we are very careful about our golden ray intake. If we happen to stay out in the sun too long after our morning play, there’s a good chance someone will get a sunburn. To ease the harsh effects of a burn on my littles and myself, I whipped up this cooling after-sun spray. It is, of course, safe, nontoxic, and oh-so-refreshing to the skin. Made from the goodness of plants, aloe vera, and skin supporting essential oils, it is effective and can be used again and again. All these ingredients help to soothe and repair the skin after a long day, or if you are in my family, after 30 minutes in the sun.

- 1/3 cup fractionated coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel
- 15 drops pure lavender essential oil

- 10 drops pure frankincense essential oil
*add up to 10 drops of peppermint if using only on adults*
